Mezzosoprano from Milan, Marina Serpagli is an artist who combines experience, versatility, and an entrepreneurial vision, both as a musician and as the co-founder of Orchestra Ltd, an innovative reality in the musical landscape.
Graduated in Opera Singing from the Nicolini Conservatory of Piacenza, she also holds a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Pavia, broadening her perspective on the international stage.
Her repertoire ranges from opera to chamber and symphonic music, with a particular focus on strong female roles: Zia Principessa and Zita in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, Dorabella in Così fan tutte by Mozart, Angelina in La Cenerentola by Rossini, Maddalena in Rigoletto by Verdi, just to name a few. She brings these characters to life on the stages of prestigious theaters such as the Rossini Theater in Pesaro, the Regio Theater in Parma, the San Carlo Theater in Naples, the Argentina Theater in Rome, the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, and the Alighieri Theater in Ravenna.
Alongside major repertoire titles, she also rediscovers lesser-known works, such as L’Uccellino d’Oro by Riccardo Zandonai, in which she starred during its first performance in 112 years at the Filarmonica Hall in Rovereto.
Her concert activity includes performances of the Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, the Messiah by Händel, and the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, under the direction of prominent conductors. Of particular note is her interpretation of Verdi’s Requiem, performed on tour with the Süddeutscher Ärztechor und Ärzteorchester in North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven at the Sala Verdi of the Milan Conservatory, which allowed her to engage with monumental symphonic-choral repertoire.
Internationally, she made her debut at the Belgrade Early Music Festival, participating in L’Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, as well as in a Vivaldi concert at the National Museum. She has also performed at prestigious festivals such as the Mantova Chamber Music Festival, the Bellagio Festival, the Festival della Parola in Parma, and the distinguished series I Tesori di Orfeo at the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia.
A versatile artist with a strong stage presence, throughout her career she has collaborated with esteemed conductors and directors, including Donato Renzetti, Romano Gandolfi, Riccardo Chailly, Marco Guidarini, Enrico Pagano, Marius Popp, Leo Muscato, Denis Krief, Aldo Tarabella, and Alberto Oliva.
Through continuous study and improvement, she refines her interpretative approach, combining stylistic rigor, theatrical intelligence, and expressive authenticity, elements that define her work and her musical exploration.
